What is Paintball?

DEAR CUSTOMERS,

Here we want to enable beginners and newbies to get an overview of the American sport of paintball. Of course, the information below also includes the legal provisions that apply to this sport.

EXPLANATIONS OF PAINTBALL SPORT

WHAT IS THE GOAL OF THE GAME?

Gotcha is the only extreme sport in the world that is played in a team and has a lot of fun potential. Robber and gendarme, a childhood game that is sure to be familiar to everyone.

You could say paintball is the same game, but for adults. However, with much more team spirit, action, excitement and, of course, thrills.

When paintball is differentiated between scenario and Woodland Paintball, that in camouflage in the forest or played on the field and tournament paintball that is played on standardized competition playing fields.

While tournament sports are about shooting down as many opponents as possible, Woodland is about stealing the opposing team's flag and taking it to their starting area.

If you meet opponents on the way there, they will of course be shot down with the help of a paintball marker . If a player was hit with a color spot, he is eliminated from the current round of play and allowed to play again the next time.

WHO IS ALLOWED TO PLAY PAINTBALL?

The Gotcha sport may only be played by players who are at least eighteen years old. There is no special target group in the area of paintball, because this sport is equally popular among all sections of the population.

From family man, trainee, high school graduate to lawyer or doctor, we have already met people from various social and population strata who have found fun in this American sport.

I WANT TO PLAY PAINTBALL AND NOW?

Anyone who has reached the age of eighteen may play paintball according to German law. Previous knowledge of this sport is not necessary, as you will be instructed on every paintball pitch again and again.

The rules are explained again and the equipment. It's best to go to a paintball pitch as a whole group, which is the most fun. Of course you can just join other teams on the field. When playing paintball you actually make contacts very quickly.

WHERE CAN I PLAY PAINTBALL?

Paintball is best played on an officially approved playing field. It is important that the safety regulations are adhered to accordingly.

Another reason why playing on official pitches is much more fun is the fact that official fields are much better equipped. Of course, there are also paintball players who go the unauthorized way and play paintball on their own grounds or somewhere in the forest.

We would like to say that this is prohibited by the German legislator. Private plots do not meet the usual safety regulations that a paintball court has to fulfill.

PAINTBALL - WHAT IS IT?

Paintballs are the ammunition balls used in this sport. These are gelatin balls that have been filled with food coloring. The balls are then fired with a paintball marker. The paintballs have a diameter of 17.3 mm (cal. 68).

From our experience, we always advise our customers that you should pay attention to a good storage of paintballs and a high quality of paintball ammunition. Only fresh and high-quality paintballs have a good flight behavior and burst with the opponent.

Those who opt for cheap paintballs will be extremely annoyed in the field over the inferior quality and inaccurate flight behavior.

WHAT ARE THE COVERAGES FOR PAINTBALL SPORT MADE OF?

The coverings on the paintball court are made of various materials. In tournaments, for example, inflatable rubber covers are common. These are very similar to small inflatables, as they are known from his own childhood.

In Scenario & Woodland Paintball, the covers are barrels or wooden pallets, as well as natural coverings in the form of trees or ditches.

PAINTBALL MARKER - WHAT EXACTLY IS IT?

With the paintball marker, the paint balls can be fired. One could say that the construction principle of the paintball marker is very similar to the construction of an air pressure weapon (such as an air rifle). The paintball marker is operated via a CO2, compressed air or HP bottle.

Paintball markers marketed on the German market must have an F stamp. For more information on the various models of paintball markers you can get in our shop.

IS PAINTBALL A SAFE SPORT?

Statistical studies show that Gotcha is one of the safest sports in the world. Paintball is definitely not a contact sport. The rules even say that direct contact with the opponent is forbidden. Furthermore, by far less accidents or even injuries occur in this sport.

The worst thing that can happen to a player is bruising after being hit by a paintball. These bruises usually heal quickly.

Professional paintball players therefore wear high quality and safe paintball equipment. These include the depth protection as well as elbow pads, breastplates and knee pads.

THE PAINTBALL SPORT AND THE LAW

All paintball markers that are sold or transported in Germany must be marked with a so-called F-stamp. Here, an F is shown surrounded by a 5-corner.

If the paintball weapon is transported, it must not be ready or ready to fire. The paintball marker must be transported in the trunk or in a closed container. Markers and ammunition must always be stored or transported separately from each other.

Leading the paintball weapon is only possible outside of the so-called pacified possession only if a regular firearm license is available. The small gun license that applies to signal, irritant, or bullet weapons is not enough.

The paintball weapon must not be ready to fire during transport. Ready to shoot, the German legislator understands that it is loaded or bullets or ammunition are in the magazine, in the chamber or in the drum. Even if the weapon is secured or not cocked, the weapon is considered ready to shoot.

Furthermore, the German law defines that a weapon is ready to be accessed if it can be brought into the attack with quick hand movements. This would be the case, for example, when the gun is being transported in the open glove box or in the holster under the jacket.

IMPORTANT - THE STORAGE OF THE PAINTBALL MARKER

The paintball marker falls under the category "free weapons" and should therefore be kept in such a way that the marker can not be stolen by unauthorized persons. This also means that the marker may not be used by unauthorized persons. In this case, there are people who have not reached the age of eighteen.

According to § 12 Abs. 3 Nr. 2 WaffG , however, no permission is required to drive if the weapon is not transported ready to shoot or access from one place to another. The transport of the weapon may, however, only take place if it fulfills the purpose for the respective need or takes place in connection therewith.
